We can’t have it both ways

THE daily increases in taxes last week were denounced

We can’t have it both ways

They demand lower taxes, but still expect spending on public service wages, roads, hospitals, housing, and the like, to be maintained or increased. This is not viable. The money has to come from somewhere.

If taxes are to be capped or lowered, then spending will have to suffer; if spending must be increased, then taxes will have to increase, too.

The public needs to be more realistic.
