Parents Council policy

I ASSURE Tom Cunnane (Irish Examiner, May 31) that National Parents Council Primary has, over the past 20 years, developed well researched and democratically formed policies.

With particular regard to school transport, we have, many times, surveyed the views of parents. Delegates have brought forward parental concerns at annual conferences. We have had meetings with Government departments and relevant agencies, made consistent submissions and media statements expressing views of parents on all aspects of school transport and safety issues.

Through membership of National Parents Council Primary, parent associations can and do make sure we represent the views of parents.
