People waking up to the legacy of liberalism
TDs must toe the party line. They must obey or pay. Big daddy is watching.
But what is this 'party line'? I lay a euro to a cent that very few of our elected representatives know the full extent of it and even fewer have given any thought to the implications for Irish society at large if it is implemented in full or in part.
But while our elected representatives remain in blissful ignorance of the dangers inherent in the liberal agenda, the same cannot be said of the plain people of Ireland. Bertie & Co could do worse that to listen, carefully, to the grassroots.
You see, Bertie, the Irish people, who have been wandering in a liberal wilderness for decades, are now waking up to the real cost of that liberalism.
They have begun to question whether their commonsense, which they surrendered to the liberal ideologues and the social science experts, wasn't right after all that peculiarly Irish commonsense that told them it's not so much what you have, but what you are.
They are beginning to see that this county's foundation is not so much our material prosperity, or the strength of the euro or the ruthless Celtic Tiger, but the heart, the soul, the moral being of the people.
Tread carefully, Taoiseach, you are standing on very precious ground.
