Spare me all those Pharisees

I AM disgusted

Spare me all those Pharisees

I will not let them talk down to me about love of children, nor will I submit to the usual assurances about abhorrence, etc. The people who matter to me do not need them.

The Pharisees among us are howling in anguish about the fate of children far away yet they never express any concern about the fate of the multitude of suffering children on the files of our own health boards.

I am not talking necessarily about sexual abuse, but about the soul-destroying, banal conditions brought about by inadequate, shiftless parenting and the more serious forms of physical and mental abuse known to social workers.

But there is no frisson, no emotional orgasm, to be got from this.

Judging by what is publicly known at present, I solemnly state that I would rather live near that good husband, father, neighbour, employer and friend Tim Allen with my precious, adored grandchildren than near his hypocritical, black-souled critics.

Sheila Griffin,

Curragraigue,

Co Kerry.

PS: I have no connection with the Allen family.
