Columnist is wrong about capital needs

FERGUS FINLAY admits in his rather hysterical column (Irish Examiner, November 9) that he is “a bit spoiled” as he lives on a fixed rail line called the DART.

Columnist is wrong about capital needs

He praises it for being reliable, while criticising Luas for being inflexible, ie, on a fixed line.

There are a number of inaccuracies in Mr Finlay’s column. He claims there was no consultation when there has been extensive public consultation over a period of years, including years when Labour was in government. There were judicial inquiries also into each line, as required by law. Perhaps as Labour chef de cabinet he is unaware of what Labour was doing in government.
