Better in the bar than out on the streets

POOR Bord Fáilte. Ireland now faces the further stigma of being overpriced — thanks to Bertie Ahern. He is inadvertently exporting happiness, with his clampdown on “happy hour”.

We have created an environment where it's easier to get illegal drugs than our adopted drugs. The supervised environment of the local bar is a safer place than the streets. End this sanctimonious witch-hunt on cheap drink and concentrate on promoting youth culture sport, drama, music or art.
