Switch on to TG4 for quality programming
With due respect to all concerned, neither could hold a candle to Boinne Le on TG4 on September 6, presented by Seán Bán Breathnach. Furthermore, like so many other fine programmes on TG4 it was subtitled in English for those with little Irish or none.
Why do so many newspaper commentators completely ignore TG4 programming in their daily/weekly comments? There is never a mention of the excellent soap Ros na Rún, which has, I understand, quite an audience and is subtitled.
TG4 has produced documentaries of quality using archives of rarity. The station was also the first to introduce an original version of weather forecasting, giving updates during the evening a format which other stations have copied.
