Time for EU to batten down the hatches

It would be wrong to suggest that the Good Ship Europe is heading for the rocks.

The luring voices of the Sirens cannot be heard yet but it is hardly premature to batten down the hatches so the kind of stability needed to cope with a series of minor and not so minor storms is re-established. That no-one knows if those storms are passing or escalating adds urgency to that need for a cautionary, confidence-building review.
