Anybody who was foolish enough to ignore the last deadline which ran out yesterday, will face relentless pursuit and the imposition of significant additional penalties and interest, as well as the possibility of criminal prosecution.

So far, the aggregate revenue take from the DIRT investigation came to almost €500m; €220m from the look-back audits of financial institutions; €227m from the voluntary disclosure of November last year, and €50m to date from the current stage in the probe.
