It’s time for garda heads to roll

In the uncompromising language of his earlier report, Tribunal chairman Mr Justice Frederick R Morris describes in disturbing terms the botched garda investigation into the unsolved hit-and-run death of Donegal cattle dealer Richie Barron in 1996, as prejudiced to the highest degree and characterised by unbelievable incompetence and criminal negligence.

In reality those accused of his ‘murder’, including a framed member of the McBrearty family, are innocent, according to Justice Minister Michael McDowell.
