Public must be informed on debate

THE Government must accept a large measure of blame for the welter of confusion surrounding the stem cell controversy.

Its failure to allow Dáil debate on this vexed topic has added to the level of doubt and concern gripping the public.

Discussion of the contentious subject has been limited to the floor of the Seanad and to last night’s meeting of the Fianna Fáil parliamentary party.
