Right type of information is vital

THE Government has at last decided on a date when the referendum on the Nice Treaty will be held.

With October 19 announced as polling day, a more concerted focus can now be given to a proper debate on the issues involved.

With the vast majority of people seemingly without any appreciation of what is involved at this stage, and a substantial number of young people disinclined to even vote, there are serious challenges to be overcome.
