Domestic abuse - Stark images highlight the problem

IN a timely bid to root out Ireland’s worsening crisis of domestic violence, the power of advertising is being harnessed to change attitudes.

So endemic has the problem become that a series of graphic advertisements are being used in a cross-border assault launched to combat a crime mainly perpetrated against women.

The campaign comes at a time when domestic violence victims are suffering unprecedented levels of abuse, sometimes with fatal consequences.
