Time to curb soaring house prices

IF there is one single topic on which there is broad agreement in Irish society, it is the outrageous price of property.

Inextricably, the exorbitant cost of land is chiefly to blame for spiralling house prices.

Controlling land prices is crucial if sanity is to prevail in the housing market. With land prices amounting to 50% of the cost of a house, action is urgently needed.
