Strict code of conduct needed

THERE is a compelling case for introducing a strict code of conduct to govern the use of camera phones in schools up and down the country.

In the wake of the recent scandal, when lewd pictures of a schoolgirl were widely distributed by phone, it is not surprising that teachers are worried.

It would be Luddite to pretend the march of technology could be halted. Indeed, the mobile phone can provide a reassuring security link between children and parents.
