Marine accidents - Breath testing of boat users long overdue

CALLS for alcohol breath testing of all boat users is eminently sensible and long overdue.

Hardly a year passes without some appalling tragedy at sea where alcohol proves a contributory factor.

The Marine Casualty Investigation Board call follows a tragedy in which four yachtsmen drowned in a collision with a cargo ship in the port of Dublin following St Patrick’s weekend celebrations in 2001.
