Dove Ahern forgets Shannon

Don’t mention the war to Taoiseach Bertie Ahern; at least the war in Iraq, which he understands Ireland was opposed to.

With a little bit of mature recollection, he may recall that the Government which he leads allowed the use of Shannon Airport by the US military, and allowed US overflights of Ireland during the Iraq war.

If the Taoiseach could jog his memory further, he may remember the protest march by 100,000 people in Dublin last February objecting to the support his Government gave the American war effort.
