Sex education - Hit-and-miss approach fails young people

THERE is a world of difference between providing explicit sexual education for children and the super-sexualised images that adorn the covers of teen magazines.

Campaigners who condemn them are in good company as no less a figure than rock star Bob Geldof has compared the magazines to paedophiles.

But yet, as today’s news report illustrates, the stories behind the sensationalised headlines are often more about educating and informing teenagers than offering them a glossy blend of sex and smut.
