It is symptomatic of what is happening in our health service that another leading consultant is leaving the Health Service Executive - Southern Area from a sense of frustration engendered by the lack of resources.

The Mercy University Hospital (MUH) will lose a consultant paediatrician but, unfortunately, in this case, it will have intolerable consequences for children with cerebral palsy, and their families.

Because the children attend the doctor's clinic for injections which allow them walk, they now face the prospect of having to travel to Dublin for that vital treatment.
