Showjumping row - Irish team must stop the feuding

SOMETHING is rotten in the Irish equestrian world and it is high time this cancer, whatever its source, which threatens to destroy Ireland’s once proud reputation in the sport, was rooted out once and for all.

A perplexed public will welcome the move by MEP Avril Doyle, President of the Equestrian Federation of Ireland, to order a review of Ireland’s international showjumping team selection process.

But by the time the overhaul is finished, Ireland may already have dropped out of the lucrative Samsung super league.
