Reform of elitist system welcome

IT is refreshing that the blueprint for the on-going modernisation of Ireland’s court system includes an action plan for a customer service programme.

This is a long overdue development and should help bring the courts closer to the people.

All too often, in its day-to-day business, the legal system is perceived as elitist, aloof and distant from the very citizens it is designed to serve.
