AFTER years of getting away with the environmental crime of turning the Irish Sea into the most radioactive body of water on the planet, Britain will be in the dock tomorrow at the International Court of Justice in the Hague.

While Ireland’s prospects of forcing the nuclear monster to shut down are not great, the Government at least has a chance of stopping it flouting international law.

The kernel of our case is that under the United Nations Maritime Act, Britain has failed to protect the marine environment by polluting sea with contaminated water from Sellafield’s cooling process.
