Disadvantaged areas - IDA chief’s ‘whingeing’ remark harsh
In trying to find alternative jobs after the closure of a factory, people in a community usually resort to calling on government agencies for help, because they are expected to have the experience and means to help.
To describe such efforts as “whingeing” is a little bit harsh. Nobody could contradict the IDA chief executive when he said that investors want to locate in an area which is forward-looking and progressive, which is confident and congenial and which seeks to create and seize opportunities.
