Cost of cover does not add up

THE revelation that more than 1,200 small businesses are operating without public liability insurance because they cannot afford huge premium increases is alarming.

Not only have 3,000 jobs been lost, but 100 companies have gone to the wall under the ever increasing insurance burden.

Unless something is done to curb crippling costs, many other firms will go under.
