A crushing indictment
In an investigation which was conducted over six months, the international human rights organisation established that at least 134 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli army, as well as the torture of prisoners, destruction of over 3,000 Palestinian homes and the prevention of ambulances and medical personnel from entering the two towns.
The Amnesty report also referred to Palestinians being used as “human shields” and that Israeli soldiers even looted the belongings of Palestinians. It also condemned Palestinian suicide bombings as crimes against humanity and that they were widespread and systematic and part of a publicly announced policy to target civilians.
