DURING their two-day sojourn in Killarney to get indoctrinated with the merits of the Nice Treaty, the Fianna Fáil parliamentary party would do well to consider what is actually concentrating the minds of the population.

It is not the expansion of the European Union, but the contraction of the euro notes in their wallets, because of price increases which are bombarding them on almost a daily basis.

The Consumer Prices Index published yesterday show that prices last month rose 0.6% across a whole spectrum of items.
