Town’s SARS worries not surprising

IT is all too easy to be critical of Clonmel Council’s decision to ask athletes from SARS-affected Hong Kong not to come to the town which is due to host them for the Special Olympics in June.

If the move was hasty, the same might be said of Tánaiste Mary Harney’s unwarranted criticism of the move.

Obviously, there is much disappointment at the decision which comes as a blow to the organisers of the biggest sports event being held in the world this year.
