Keane murder case - Accusations need to be addressed
The five men found guilty of murdering the Limerick criminal will appeal their convictions, and one of the grounds is that the State acted unfairly during jury selection in the trial. At the time, their legal representatives objected to a challenge by the DPP of a juror on the grounds that a family member had a previous conviction, which, if true, would be beyond the normal grounds for making a challenge.
In the event, that challenge was rejected by Mr Paul Carney and the person served as a juror.
