The buck doesn’t stop at Charlie

The principle of collective responsibility applies, and Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and Tánaiste Mary Harney cannot escape culpability for what has transpired since the general election, and more importantly, the obvious suppression of the true state of the economy before it.

While undoubtedly the Minister for Finance is the driving force behind the country’s economic policy, whatever it is, he is not solely responsible for it. By extension the entire Cabinet was complicit in the machinations which obviously seriously misled the electorate.
