Bondi hero Ahmed Al Ahmed's life has spiralled out of control — is it a lesson for us all?

Ahmed Al Ahmed was the simple fruit shop owner who stopped a bloodbath becoming a massacre. After the unexpected windfall of a GoFundMe and worldwide fame, his life has spiralled out of control

On the morning of December 14, 2025, Ahmed al Ahmed was a simple fruit shop owner scraping together a decent living. By the end of the day, he was being hailed as a hero, the man who stopped a bloodbath turning into a massacre.

Fifteen people had their lives cut short as they celebrated Hanukkah on Australia's most famous beach that morning. Without Al Ahmed's intervention, there would have been many more.
