Gerry Adams chants are music to the ears of Sinn Féin

For a party trying to woo young voters, the welcome Sinn Féin’s leader received on Dublin’s O’Connell St was almost too good to believe.

To the sound of “Gerry, Gerry, Gerry” chants from fifth-class children of Bishop Galvin National School in Templeogue, who just happened to be on a 1916 tour of the GPO, Adams was, from the very beginning of the pre-planned walkabout, pushing an open door.

Despite “bullshit” being said about his party, the only response to him from the public was positive.
