No justification for discriminating against same-sex couples

Opinion polls claim we can expect an overwhelming yes vote in the marriage equality referendum, but we can’t take any chances, says Alan Shatter

THE Government has announced that in May, a referendum will be held on marriage equality.

This referendum, if successful, will extend to same-sex couples the right to enter into a legally recognised marriage, a right that has been available to heterosexual couples for centuries.
