THE minister for health has rejected recommendations I made following my investigations of complaints relating to the mobility allowance scheme and the motorised transport grant.

In fact, the broad thrust of the rejected recommendations is the same in each case and it is fair to say that the minister has rejected the same recommendation in two slightly different contexts.

In the case of the motorised transport grant, I made recommendations also to the HSE and I think it is interesting to know that the HSE has accepted those recommendations in full and is now in the process of implementing them.
