FAMED for his languid disposition on stage and screen, Irish actor Stephen Rea is laid back in real life too. The Belfast man is eloquent, but speaks in a slow yet measured canter, and his tranquil voice seldom diverts from a default setting of ‘hushed tone’.

Little wonder many of the characters Rea has played have been melancholy.
