Jennifer Horgan: Kyle Chandler reels? Fine. But such scrolling could destroy my interior life

Although enjoying the ‘Friday Night Lights’ links, Jennifer Horgan headed back, in her own mind, to two recently-published books that pay better regard to our interior selves
An Insta reel about Kyle Chandler and a ‘Friday Night Lights’ anniversary dragged Jennifer down a pleasurable wormhole of many many links, one after another — until she paused to wonder about her interior life. 	Picture: Bill Records/NBC Universal/Getty

I watched a reel of actor Kyle Chandler last night. He was appearing at the 20th anniversary of a show I loved — Friday Night Lights. Lying in bed this morning, I looked him up. I looked at pictures of his wife and children. I looked at his career, at his show Homefront, another favourite. Why did his fabulous 2025 film Anniversary get such little attention anyway?

Approximately four minutes later, I had navigated back to Friday Night Lights, checking out actor Jesse Plemons playing in a band. He’s married to Kirsten Dunst.
