Fine Gael's Dublin candidate for Europe Regina Doherty accused the Greens of dividing Dublin city 'like East and West Berlin' through a 'spaghetti junction' of cycle lanes.

"There's always going to be a slice taken now and again" in the "rough and tumble" of Irish democracy.

That is the sage assessment of Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys when asked on Wednesday about intra-coalition sniping in the build-up to Friday's elections.
