Dublin media should look closer to home before criticising Healy-Raes
The panel discussed the salaries that the TDs receive for their actions — but what about Ryan Tubridy’s salary for doing less? He’s got a gift for everyone in the audience, I suppose, so that covers his back.
In the programme, the panel criticised the Healy-Raes for having a Kerry accent and looking after their constituents. However, there was no mention of the parish pump politics which was and still is taking place in Dublin and which brought this country to its knees.
There was no word about Bertie Ahern and co, who were the masters of parish pump politics in Ireland, particularly in their base in Dublin. So it’s OK if you take millions out of the coffers using a Dublin accent but you cannot use your local accent to help your local constituents?
Ms McDonald should return to university to extend her eduction on the subject of Dublin parish pump politics before she condemns others for doing what they are elected to do in whatever accent they do it.
Why not have a panel on this week’s Late Late Show to discuss the salaries in RTÉ and the agenda of the Dublin media?
