Sign a donor card now and give someone a life
Sign the card and let your family know your wishes.
I’ve been in the hospital for 166 days.
Every day I think about my eventual transplant as do the other 700 people in Ireland who are awaiting heart, lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants.
I’m lucky, in way, that I’m not totally bed bound.
I’m hooked up to a infusion machine, a six-lead telemetry monitor, and nursing care and all that includes, in having 24/7 care.
Living in a hospital, though confining, is necessary.
I have a whole new respect for the nurses, transplant coordinators, the doctors, healthcare assistants, kitchen staff, and everyone involved in my treatment, and those who are keeping me alive.
I don’t want to get philosophical, but for me and for those on the transplant list, and our families, would you please consider helping during your life or after you’re gone by signing a donor card now?
Please give it some thought and tell your family of your intentions.
Have a change of heart and sign a donor card.
