It’s time TDs served the public — not themselves

Recently, on RTÉ Radio, I heard a Fianna Fáil representative stating that the country voted for change (with this point I agree), he went on to say that because Fianna Fáil had 43 elected representatives they should lead a minority government.
It’s time TDs served the public — not themselves

His basic maths seem to have failed him, as one assumes from this statement he doesn’t know that 57 is a greater number thus putting Fine Gael ahead to lead a minority government. Nothing would persuade him otherwise! With this degree of obtuseness what hope do we have of intelligent government?

The changes people want is for issues around homelessness, mental health, lack of sufficient hospital beds, and more consideration and care for senior citizens to be addressed.

Concentrating on giving more concessions to big business and investment, in the belief that by increasing the wealth of the already rich it will filter down to the poorest in society, is a fallacy.

For all of our sakes, leave the ‘mé féin’ attitudes behind. Show some maturity and get on with the business of working together to form a government, for which you are being paid to do, by us! Fulfil your duty to the nation: You are in the service for the people — not vice versa.
