General election results made our feelings on abortion pretty clear

It seems to have escaped the attention of our political pundits that 80% of the candidates who supported the repeal of the 8th Amendment lost the recent election.

General election results made our feelings on abortion pretty clear

So well done to the pro-life voters who got rid of the Labour party and other pro-abortion TDs.

Since abortion was legalised in Britain in 1967 eight million unwanted babies have lost their lives so thousands of Irish citizens are alive today thanks to the 8th Amendment

It is interesting that the small, but vocal and intolerant, “liberal” fringe who favour abortion in the case of rape are against the death penalty for rapists but not for the innocent child involved.

They are also in favour of ending the lives of sick babies in the womb who have life limiting illness.

So much for cherishing all the children of the nation as envisaged by those who drafted the 1916 proclamation.
