Thanks but no thanks, you wasted our votes
Even after a lifetime in Shawshank it showed. You remember the scene. Climbing off the pick-up truck near Buxton, his character, Red, gave a little gesture of appreciation along with the simple words “Much obliged”. It’s the sort of thing that sticks in the memory.
Much obliged. It’s the least we could have expected from the government parties, after they had begged us for our votes. Just a loan, mind you — ’til pay day. Then pay day came and we were subjected to a torrent of abuse!
We’re now lowdown scum that drove the country over the cliff. We’re not worthy to sit in the company of these eminent men — bankers and developers and lawyers and government politicians.
Much obliged. See you on polling day!
