Dev is out of favour despite his long service

It has come to my attention that there is a drawing by Seán Keating of Éamon de Valera coming up for auction in Whyte’s Auctioneers on February 29.

The picture is going up for auction with an estimate of €3,500-€4,500

Wonder if it were of Michael Collins would the estimate be higher?

Poor de Valera isn’t getting a good run of it lately, with The Rebellion on RTÉ etc.

Is there any way the State can keep this picture in the country?
