Never underestimate vested interests’ power

Joe Gill’s article on the planned transatlantic flights from Cork airport (Irish Examiner, February 3) shows the power of vested interests.

However, despite the political posturing on the subject it may well be that the ‘backroomboys’ in Dublin are talking through the back door to the ‘backroomboys’ in the US to slow or prevent the development to satisfy Irish vested interests.
