Instead of taking our water, give us jobs

THE transfer of water from Shannon to Dublin was in the planning of this country for successive governments.

Instead of taking our water, give us jobs

The plan was for county councils to hand the management of water to Irish Water, who are not dependent on the electorate. They could install the system with no blame on politicians.

But if they continue to impose this scheme on the people, it will cause a civil war in Ireland between the West and East. It is fine to have a strong government, but the government must heed the people. It was stated on Newstalk, on November 24/25, that Limerick had more water than it could use.

Why not direct development at Limerick, instead of pumping the surplus to Dublin?

This strategy should be followed by all the cities in Ireland, and then all young people would not have to move to Dublin to have a future. This should be an election issue in the Mid-West.
