My pharmacist is Arab, the surgeon who operated on me was Arab, the teacher who comes to offer classes in the local kibbutz is Arab, my plumber is Arab. There are Arab members of parliament, Arab judges and there was, not so long ago, an Arab vice-president acting as president. My local shopping centre, which serves Jewish and Arab towns, has Jews and Arabs working together. Perhaps Mr Moriarty’s sunglasses distorted his vision while here!
