Catholics should not be sorry for their beliefs

Eric Conway’s (October 16) letter of support for Fr Joseph Okere’s proclamation of Catholic teaching on ‘same sex marriage’ is spot on. I, too, was amazed that any bishop would want to apologise for one his priests proclaiming Catholic teaching.

Meanwhile, several of the bishops at the Rome synod, most notably Archbishop Tomash Peta, of Astana, have spoken as clearly as Fr Okere. Will Bishop Duffy seek to dissociate himself from his fellow bishops?
