Adams initially denied that IRA were involved in McCabe murder

As a former member of An Garda Siochana I am sad to see the present Garda Commissioner being praised by Sinn Fein, after she made a statement appearing to defend Gerry Adams’ denial of involvement by the Provisional IRA in the murder of Kevin McGuigan.

Adams initially denied that IRA were involved in McCabe murder

The same Mr Adams claims he was never in the IRA yet he is quickly into the media with denial of Republican involvement in many actions in the past.

In that regard I am most conscious of how quickly he was on the airwaves to deny that there was any involvement by the IRA in the horrific fatal attack on two members of the Gardaí in Adare, resulting in the death of Detective Garda Gerry McCabe.

Following the Gardaí quickly proving the IRA were involved, the same Mr Adams claimed the action was sanctioned, but only at a local level. That apparently justified it in his eyes.

I would hope there are no further statements

from any section of the Gardaí, defending those who have taken so many Garda lives.

They are well able to spread their own propaganda of lies.
