No-one was warned not to attend Israeli film

In a letter attempting to smear the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) and supporters of Palestinian rights (Irish Examiner, Letters, July 30), Kevin McCarthy makes an untrue assertion about the Limerick screening of the award-winning Israeli film, The Lab.

No-one was warned not to attend Israeli film

Mr McCarthy claims that he made an inquiry about attending the film, ā€œas an advocate of Israelā€, and that it was made clear to him that his ā€œpersonal safety would be at riskā€.

But to whom did he make this supposed inquiry? Certainly not to the national organisers of the tour (the film also screened in Cork), the IPSC. Certainly not to the local Limerick organiser of the screening, namely myself.
