As an unemployed person, I’d like to congratulate Mr Jim Ronayne on his attitude to recruitment (“400 hopefuls compete for 60 McDonald’s jobs”, Irish Examiner, July 9).

Recruitment skills are poor

I’ve never met Mr Ronayne but I think his attitude to job applicants is praiseworthy.

As a “survivor” of the 1980s recession and a “participant” in the current recession, my experience of the recruitment process has not been good. I’ve found the standard of interviewing skills to be poor .
