Halligan’s revelation gives support to many

I took great comfort in reading Ursula Halligan’s article about her sexuality. While her journey is different to mine we are of a similar generation and I can identify with so much of what she wrote especially that she tried to deny her sexuality.

As a young adult I did likewise. I only began to face up to my sexuality in my late 20s while undergoing psychotherapy for other issues.

Earlier this year I came out publicly. While Ursula hopes her article helps “even one 17-year-old school girl”, I can assure her it has helped this 50 year old man.

It’s nice to know other people experience similar struggles as yourself. Thank you Ursula,
